Carnival - Marquês de Sapucaí

 

It's the classic Carnival, where purchase is the ticket to see the parades of the samba schools that usually happens at the beginning of February. 

Rio Old Fair

 

On the first Saturday of each month Lavradio Street, redoubt of old furniture stores, can gather in the same place at the same time antique stalls, crafts, food and music. 

Rio Scenarium

 

A mix of Antiquarian and Shows House, the 'Pavilion of Culture' is a Big House of the nineteenth century. He became one of the main points Cariocas offering great drinks, assorted snacks, restaurant and live music.

Feira de São Cristóvão

 

With almost 700 tents to meet a loyal audience of approximately 250,000 people per month, the Feira de São Cristóvão offers a bit of everything: typical cuisine, crafts, trios and forró bands, lots of dancing, singers and popular poets, Repente and Cordel's literature.

Fundição Progresso

 

Located in a historic building, this former factory of iron objects which is off since the 70s is a cultural center, a House of shows which produces and promotes art..

Circo Voador

 

Created in the early 80s by artists who needed space to present their work, the Circo Voador was built in Lapa and remains host to major concerts, exhibitions, workshops etc.

Gafieira Estudantina

 

Created in 1932, the Gafieira Estudantina emerged as an alternative to the old popular dances of the 30s. Today helps to affirm the ballroom dance like no other establishment.

Restaurante Mauá

 

The restaurant, designed to offer a rustic and elegant atmosphere. Mixture of Brazilian culture characteristics with a menu of national ingredients, emphasizing the diversity of Brazilian cuisine. 

Renascença Clube

 

The Renaissance Club was founded as a college where black families could gather and enjoy a harmonious social and cultural coexistence without suffering prejudice.

Cacique de Ramos

 

The Cacique de Ramos, one of the most important dens of samba, was declared Cultural and Intangible Heritage of the State of Rio de Janeiro and awarded the Tiradentes Medal.

Bar do Mineiro, in Santa Teresa, offers typical local cuisine. To drink we have cold beer and more than 20 cachaça brands.

Trapiche Gamboa

 

A townhouse nineteenth century, considered one of the true strongholds of samba, it has traditional Roda de Samba, Choro, Jongo and Maracatu.

 

Pedra do Sal

 

The place is an historic site and now makes history in samba. Events of other musical styles also occur here.
